Privacy notice

How SWENGrad Education Consultation handles personal information, what this website does and does not collect, and what rights you have.

1. About this notice

This notice explains what personal information SWENGrad Education Consultation collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers both this website and the advisory services we provide.

SWENGrad Education Consultation is established in Lithuania, an EU member state, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to how we handle your personal information. This notice is written to meet that standard.

2. What this website collects

This website does not collect personal information from visitors. Specifically, it has:

  • no cookies of any kind, and therefore no cookie consent banner;
  • no account, login or registration of any sort;
  • no analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising technology;
  • no embedded third-party content, fonts, scripts or media.

Every file the site loads comes from the site's own domain. Nothing is requested from any external service as you browse, so no third party observes your visit through this website.

Our hosting provider will process technical connection data, such as IP addresses and request logs, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. That is a normal and necessary function of any web hosting.

3. The enquiry form

The contact page carries an enquiry form asking for your name, email address, an optional phone number, the level you are applying at, the countries you are considering, and a free-text description of your background and questions. Only the name, email, level, message and your consent are required.

How the form currently sends. The website has no server of its own, so the form does not transmit your details in the background. When you submit it, your own email application opens with the information you entered already filled in and addressed to us, and you send it yourself. Nothing is transmitted anywhere unless you press send, and your details are not stored on this website at any point.

If this changes — for example if a hosted form service is introduced — this notice will be updated to name that provider before the change goes live.

4. What we collect when you contact us

However you reach us — the form, email, telephone or WhatsApp — we hold what you choose to send. Typically this is:

  • your name and the contact details you write from;
  • what you tell us about your academic background and study plans;
  • the correspondence between us.

If you go on to engage our services, this will extend to the documents you share with us for the purpose of advising you — for example transcripts, certificates, CVs and application drafts.

Please do not send identity documents or other sensitive material in a first email. We will tell you what is needed, and when.

5. Why we hold it, and on what basis

We use your information to reply to you, to provide the advisory services you have asked for, and to keep the records a business is required to keep. Where a legal basis is required, we rely on your consent when you contact us voluntarily, on the performance of our agreement with you once you engage our services, and on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to us.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have separately asked us to.

6. Who else processes your information

We do not sell personal information. We do not pass it to universities, agents or anyone else for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Operating the business does, however, require service providers, and information is necessarily processed by them on our behalf where that is needed to run the service and respond to you. These fall into the following categories:

  • Website hosting — serving this website and its logs;
  • Email — sending, receiving and storing correspondence;
  • Appointment booking — scheduling consultations, once such a service is in use;
  • Enquiry form handling — receiving and delivering form submissions, once such a service is in use;
  • Video conferencing — holding remote consultations.

These providers act on our instructions for the purposes described above. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as it is useful to the conversation it belongs to, and client records for as long as we are required to retain them, after which they are deleted.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

8. How it is protected

This website is served only over an encrypted HTTPS connection and sets a strict content security policy, so it cannot load code or content from outside its own domain. We keep the information you send us on access-controlled accounts and limit access to those who need it to advise you.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. We ask you not to send sensitive documents until we have agreed what is needed.

9. Your rights

In relation to the personal information we hold about you, you can ask us to:

  • confirm what we hold and give you a copy of it;
  • correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • provide it in a portable, machine-readable form;
  • withdraw consent you have given, at any time, without affecting what was done beforehand.

We will respond to any such request without undue delay, and in any case within one month, as the GDPR requires.

If you believe we have handled your information improperly, you have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Ours is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija) in Vilnius, Lithuania. If you live elsewhere in the European Economic Area, you may instead complain to the supervisory authority of your own country.

We would rather hear from you first, so please contact us before escalating if that seems reasonable to you.

10. Links to other websites

The only outbound links on this website go to WhatsApp: one on the contact page and one in the footer of every page. Following either takes you to a service operated by a third party, whose own privacy notice and terms then apply to your use of it. We have no control over that service.

These links are inert until you click them — nothing is requested from WhatsApp, and nothing about your visit is shared with it, while you are simply reading this site. Every other link on the site points to another page of this site.

11. Changes to this notice

If this notice changes — for example when an enquiry form or booking service is introduced, or when specific service providers are named — the updated version will be published here. Material changes will be described rather than made silently.

12. Contact

Questions about this notice, or requests relating to your information, can be sent to us via the contact page.
